My visit to the Getty Center

While Daddy was in Mexico with his best friends celebrating their 40th birthdays, I stayed home with Mommy and Grandma Lu. We had a week filled with fun and adventure. One of the places we visited was the Getty Center in Los Angeles. Daddy, Mommy, and I had visited the Getty Villa's recently, so it was nice to also go and explore the Getty Center. The Getty is set on beautiful grounds overlooking Brentwood and Bel Air. Thankfully, the sun broke through and we had a beautiful view of the Southland.

I can crawl!!!

For the last month I've been making my attempt at crawling and I finally did it. I just got up on my hands and knees and started making my move. I still get tired and take a break every few moves, but pretty soon I'll be racing all around. Next task to accomplish is walking. I'm already practicing by picking myself up and using the couch as my walker. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of me.

Here I go...

This crawling stuff is hard work. I need a little break and I'll pose for the camera.

The couch is my guide.

New Milestones - 7 Months to 8 Months

I am becoming such a big boy - well that is what Mommy always tells me. I have 6 teeth now...4 on top and 2 on bottom. I seem to get teeth all at once and they really hurt me when they come in. I say 'dada' and I wave hello and goodbye. Mommy thinks she hears me say 'mama' when I cry. I shake my head 'no', mostly just to be funny. I am almost crawling. I do an army crawl now on my tippy toes. This month I celebrated my first 4th of July. It was fun even though I slept through the fireworks. I also went on my first vacation to Palm Desert. I was able to visit a few days with our friends 'The Clayton Family' from San Francisco. I got to meet Darrick, Alisa, Xiara, and Malea. It was a house filled with love and friendship.

Mommy spent a lot of time this month job searching. She finally found a job and will be going back to work soon. I will be staying with my nanny Yolanda during the day. I know we will get along well. Although I will be very sad to leave Mommy, I know she has to get back to work. It will be good for us to get a break from each other. At least that is what Mommy is telling herself so she doesn't break down and cry all day long.

I got to spend a lot of time swimming since the weather has been so hot. It is the only thing that cools me down.

Time is just flying by...pretty soon, it will be my 1st birthday!!!

My 1st 4th of July!!!

I celebrated my 1st 4th of July with family and friends. We went to grandma and grandpa's house and there was a big party. Mommy tells me this party is an annual event at grandma and grandpa's house. It was a lot of fun. Daddy and I swam in the pool with my cousin Anthony.

We hung out with family and friends after swimming. There were a lot of people there. I was passed around like a football. I don't mind, I like being held. I even learned Salsa lessons from Uncle Rafael.

In the evening, the fireworks began. However, I was so exhausted from the day's events that I fell asleep before the main attraction. Mommy and Daddy were bummed that I did not get to see all the fireworks, but they were a little relieved as well because they were concerned that I would not like the noise. I'm sure I would have loved it. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait until next year to experience the big show.
