Great Wolf Lodge

Since we had a minimum day on Wednesday and no school on Thursday due to teacher in service, Mommy and Daddy surprised us with a last minute mini vacation. We went to the Great Wolf Lodge in Garden Grove.  It is a cool, kid hotel with an indoor water park.  We had a blast!  First off, we love staying in hotels so that alone was exciting.  The indoor water park was the icing on the cake.  We went on all the rides.  Daddy and I went on the scariest ride called the Howlin' Tornado and it had a 40 drop right at the beginning.  I loved it!  Parker was too short to go on this ride and Mommy was too scared, so they want on the River Canyon Run together.  Most water slides could go as doubles or singles and the River Canyon Run was the family raft ride.  There were 4 slides that you went on a mat, head first and there was a fun drop at the end.  We parkoured on the lily pad and the wood blocks.  We surfed on the Flow Rider, body surfed in the wave pool, and floated on the lazy river.  We had such a fun time and we hope to go back again soon.

Apple Picking at Riley's Farm

We went apple picking today at Riley's Farm in Oak Glen.  It was a beautiful, cool. yet sunny, pre-fall day.  We got to pick in different orchards that grew different types of apples.  We chose to pick Snow Crisp apples and Senshu apples.  Riley's specializes in heirloom apples that are old in history and cannot be bought in your regular grocery store.  It was still a little early in the season so many apples were more on the tart side rather than sweet.  It was still fun to taste test different varieties and then get to roam the orchards and pick what we want.

After our time at Riley's Farm, we went down the road to Snow-Line Orchard and got to sample their different varieties.  They had over 10 varieties to try - some sweet and some very tart.  We also got o eat their famous Mini Cider Donuts....YUM!  I could have eaten those donuts all day long.  It was a great family day and I do more family events like this one.

Summer Soccer Season

This is my 2nd season playing soccer and Daddy is our coach.  We had such a small team and since Daddy was the coach, Parker was able to join our team halfway through the season.  It is so much fun to play with the team and even better with my brother.  One game, we both scored goals.  I learned more soccer skills, the importance of perseverance, sportsmanship, and team spirit.  Maybe I'll be a big soccer star one day?
