My First Christmas

These things called holidays are a lot of fun. We had Thanksgiving last month and now we have Christmas. I spent my first Christmas with my family. I was able to meet a few aunts, uncles, and cousins that I have not met before.

Christmas Eve
We spent Christmas Eve with my Mommy's family. We started off at Uncle Gary's visiting them and Great Grandma Carmen. Then we went to Grandma Lucille's and Grandpa John's house. We got to open some presents....oh yeah!!! Then we went to Mom & Pop's house and we spent the remainder of the night there with the entire family. Mommy and Daddy played a fun white elephant game, but I did not see any elephants? I was in heaven because someone always wanted to hold me. I felt so much love. We got home late and Mommy was very tired, but I was a good boy and let her sleep until 3:30am.

Christmas Day
We spent Christmas Day with Daddy's family. We went to Grandma Katy's and Grandpa Al's house. It was an all day event filled with food, family, and lots of presents. I got so many toys and books. I can't wait to play with them when I get a little older. I got to meet my Great Aunt Piedad, my 2nd Cousin Art, and my cousin Steve. Cousin Steve was home from Petaluma where he is stationed in the Coast Guard We watched the Charger game in the afternoon and it was a great game. Charger's won!!! We got home late again and this time Mommy was exhausted. Daddy took care of me while Mommy took a nap. I listened to Mommy and I let her sleep until 4am, so she was happy with me.

I can get use to this 'holiday' thing. Mommy tells me that New Years is next week and that is the next holiday I will celebrate. I can't wait!!!

Holiday Traditions

Since we are now a family, Mommy and Daddy wanted to start a few holiday traditions. One tradition we started this year was driving around to look at all the Christmas lights. This is something that Grandma and Grandpa use to do with Mommy and she remembered how much she loved it, so she wanted me to have the same wonderful memories. We made ourselves hot chocolate (well Mommy and Daddy had some) and we drove around our city looking at all the light displays. There was one street in particular that was so festive. We listened to Christmas music as we drove around. I can't wait until I get older so we can get off the car and walk around to see the light displays up close. Mommy and Daddy will also take me to Hastings Ranch when I get bigger too. I love this new tradition and I look forward to our adventures each year.

1st Doctor Visit - 2 weeks old

I went to see Dr Mike today (12/2/09). Mommy and Grandma Lucille went with me. I really like Dr Mike, but I think Mommy likes him even more. He is so knowledgable and is very patient with Mommy's many questions. He said I have grown 3 inches since birth and I've gained 1/2 a pound. He said I am doing well and am a healthy, growing boy. The next time I see Dr Mike will be for my 2 month check up. Daddy will be going with us because I have to get some vaccinations. Mommy said it is important that Daddy go to this visit with us. I'm not sure why she is so paranoid?
