Summer Getway in Palm Springs

We took a last minute summer vacation to the Omni Resort in Palm Springs.  We had such a fun time playing on the splash pad, going down the water slides, and floating along the lazy river.  We hope we can make this trip a family tradition every summer as it was loads of fun!

Summer Fun

We have had a mellow summer but still a great time.  We had a couple of play dates with friends, lots of swimming in the pool, beach days, riding bikes, watching movies, a visit to the rail museum, and lots of Lego building.  I did some extra school work to keep up on my learning which allowed me to earn two new Lego sets from Mommy and Daddy.  We got to see several movies - The Peanuts Movie, Shaun the Sheep, Zootopia, Finding Dory, and The Secret Life of Pets.  We went to Boomers and got to ride the go carts, bumper boats, and played lots of arcade games.  Daddy taught us to ride the waves on the boogie board.  We spent many days poolside at our park pools and at Grandma Lu's pool.  It was a memorable summer filled with lazy days, play time, and fun time and I do not want the summer end!

Future Architect

My latest obsession is Lego building.  Not just any Lego building, but designing and building houses.  I love coming up with the design in my mind and then putting it into action and making it real.  I show Mommy and Daddy the houses I will build for them when I grow up.  I can sit and build Lego's all day long.  Many of my builds take hours with many small pieces.  One of my houses is over 900 pieces and takes me well over 6 hours to complete.  Mommy says I'm going to be an architect when I grow up.  All I know is that I love my Lego's!!!

Hitting the Rails

Today we went to the OC Empire Rail Museum with Auntie Janelle, Joce, and Grayson.  It was a long drive and took up forever to get there.  However it was a surprise when we arrived as we did not know our cousins were meeting up with us.  We got to check out the grounds and the old trains.  We even got to ride two old steam trains and trolley car.  It was a fun experience overall.

Happy 4th of July

We celebrated 4th of July at Grandma Lu’s.  We spent the day swimming in the pool.  We barbecued ribs and ate pizza for dinner.  When the sun when down, we lit off our fireworks.  Grandma’s neighborhood is famous for its fireworks.  All her neighbors gather in the streets and light off the most amazing fireworks.   It is like I am at a professional show.  I enjoy watching the show more than I like lighting fireworks.  My brother loves fireworks and wants to do it all by himself.  Even though I was nervous, I still had a great time.

School’s Out for Summer

The school year has come to a close as I am ready for summer.   I had a great first year of school in Kindergarten.  I really liked my teacher Mrs. Moore.   She taught me a lot of great things such as reading and math.  We finished off the year with Mrs Estrada who is another great teacher.  I enjoyed the field trips we went on and all the friends that I made.  Since I went to preschool, Kindergarten was an easy transition for me.  Mommy and Daddy are so proud of how well I’ve flourished this year.  I did very well in school and got good grades.  Since I did so well, Mommy and Daddy bought me the Beach House creator set and Grandma Lu bought me the Changing Seasons creator set.  I am excited for the summer, but I am looking forward to first grade in the fall.
